Critic consensus
“If I was in the market for a quality tablet I would strongly consider the TF700T. It has impressive specs, insane build quality, top-notch features, and a price to match. I can say, in confidence, that there really aren’t many tablets that can stand up to the Transformer Pad Infinity TF700T.”
“If you are looking to replace your notebook with the Transformer Pad Infinity with keyboard dock, it might be a bit too early. Asus has done a good work on the dock, but it’s Android that is slightly lagging behind to fully support it and developers are probably also to blame. We miss more and better working gestures and shortcuts. But if you don't have such huge ambitions, you won't be disappointed. Nothing changes the fact that the Asus Transformer Pad Infinity is a great tablet on its own. Moreover, it’s the best Android tablet we’ve ever tried. It has a great design, amazingly bright screen and adequate performance and battery life. We can whole-heartedly recommend it as a standalone tablet.”
“The Asus Transformer Pad Infinity is a great tablet with absolute top-notch specs, a killer high-resolution screen, and despite some difficulties with the locking mechanism and the over-active touchpad, we think it’s awesome to have the opportunity to use Android with an actual keyboard. The main challenge here is expectations. At $500 for the 32GB tablet, $600 for the 64GB tablet, and $150 for the keyboard, Asus has placed itself squarely against Apple’s third iPad ($500), the MacBook Air ($1000) and the new Windows 7-based Ultrabooks, which start at about $650. The Transformer Pad Infinity has a compelling screen and is more flexible than most of these devices, but it can’t match a Windows/OS X device as a laptop, and Android tablet apps still don’t hold a candle to the iPad. This puts the Infinity in an uncomfortable spot. As a tablet, it’s fantastic, but as a hybrid laptablet, it is good for Office documents, but weak on the app and Web side.”
“The Asus Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 takes over from its predecessor as the top Android tablet available. You get high performance mixed with high style, and you don't have to make a lot of sacrifices to get both. Other tablets - including the Prime, which is expected to drop in price once this model gets into the market - may provide better value, but no other Android tablet will give you the full package that the Infinity does.”

In Depth
Android tablets launched prior to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean’s arrival were plenty powerful already. Yet the Asus Transformer Pad Infinity Wi-Fi, with its 1.5GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, still manages to top the market’s best offerings, both in terms of form and function.
The Pad Infinity Wi-Fi is the latest flagship Android tablet to come out of the Asus stable, and it features a 10.1-inch full HD 1920×1200 Super IPS+ touchscreen LCD, 1GB of onboard RAM, up to 64GB of internal storage space, a bevy of wireless connectivity features including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
When it comes to hardware, this Asus tablet is nearly peerless. Its got a dual camera configuration with an 8-megapixel sensor on the main, the screen is protected by a tough layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 2, and it comes with a dock-slash-keyboard accessory that can be used to add USB ports and extend the battery to further improve its overall feature-set. And best of all, the included software is scheduled to be upgraded to Android’s latest version, Jelly Bean 4.1, some time in the near future.
It’s quite difficult to find fault in the Asus Transformer Pad Infinity Wi-Fi. It’s thin and light, and with the battery extender in the form of the included keyboard dock, it matches the industry’s best in terms of battery life. Still, if you need a device with built-in 3G or LTE for on-the-go wireless, you may need to set your sights elsewhere or on LG’s other versions of this tablet.
