Cell Plan Comparisons

Choosing a phone plan is harder than it looks. Carriers change prices, bury fees, and make “unlimited” mean six different things. PhoneCompass puts any two plans side by side — price after taxes, data priority, hotspot, international, and every feature that actually affects your bill — so you can see exactly what you’re getting before you switch.

How it works

Every plan detail, side by side — with no carrier spin

Carrier marketing is designed to make comparisons hard. Prices exclude taxes. “Unlimited” plans have four tiers. Hotspot speeds are buried in the fine print.

PhoneCompass pulls every published plan detail into a single comparison: the price you’ll actually pay after carrier fees and taxes, exactly how much high-speed data you get before throttling kicks in, what international roaming costs, and which features are genuinely included versus available as a paid add-on.

We don’t take money from carriers to rank or recommend plans. Every comparison is built from publicly available plan details, updated when carriers make changes.

Common questions

About plan comparisons

How does PhoneCompass compare phone plans?
We pull plan details directly from each carrier's published specifications — price, data allowance, hotspot, international coverage, and contract terms. Our cost breakdown adds estimated state taxes and carrier recovery fees so you can see a realistic monthly total, not just the advertised price. We update plan details when carriers make changes.
Can I compare prepaid and postpaid plans?
Yes. Prepaid and postpaid plans are genuinely worth comparing — a prepaid plan from a major carrier's sub-brand often runs on the same network as a postpaid plan at half the price. The comparison will flag when plans have different contract terms so you know what you're signing up for.
What's the difference between a data plan and a voice plan?
Voice plans include calls, texts, and data — they're what most people use as their primary phone plan. Data-only plans provide a data connection with no voice or SMS, designed for tablets, mobile hotspots, and connected devices. PhoneCompass keeps them separate so you're never comparing apples to oranges.
How do I compare more than two plans?
The current comparison tool supports two plans at a time. Pick the two you're most seriously considering — if you want to evaluate a third option, run a second comparison against your preferred result from the first.

PhoneCompass plan comparisons are built from publicly available carrier information, not sponsored placements. Prices and features change — always verify current details at the carrier before switching. Learn how PhoneCompass works →
