“The Doro 8030 has a terrible camera, poor performance, a disappointing display, no fingerprint reader, a chunky build quality and runs on the outdated Android 5.1 mobile operating system. But to complain about this stuff really misses the point of the Doro 8030. Its purpose isn’t to compete with the best budget phones, but to provide a device that’s accessible to all. With its large physical buttons, rear-call-to-help button that sends a distress signal and intuitive interface, the Doro 8030 is a phone I’d recommend to the elderly or for your children. It’s fit for purpose and there’s no denying its target audience. Until a handset comes along that offers all of this with better performance and a lower price, the Doro 8030 is an unlikely champion.”

“I’ve got to be honest, I liked this. It’s not the chunky, slightly ugly phone I expected. It’s fairly slim, well designed and the friendly buttons up front work well. The remote management solution is great, the Doro support is great. The additional on-screen menus and the GUI alterations are done well. It’s a nice, welcoming place to be if you’re an elderly user or you’re just someone who doesn’t take to technology well.”

Hi many thanks for your help & interest, tried taking battery out but no luck. Did a factory reset all working great, as my contacts lists were backed up to a mini SD card no issues with re-importing the directory of contacts. I am assuming some corruption with an email may have caused this issue, anyway thanks a lot.

Hello & thank you for the comments & suggestions. Latest update, after two days with out receiving a single email suddenly over the weekend I get 14 of them but none of them will open, the screen shows a X after loading. Will have to do a complete reset after backing up my contacts folder. Will keep you posted.

All the plusnet Account information has been deleted, but the gmail account details are still all there. I'm wondering if there is a fault somewhere, strange it only happens on one of the two email accounts and has been fine for the last year.

As far as I remember no settings were changed - which ones would be relevant? The email App is the one that comes with Doro - no new apps have been loaded.

Using a file manager app, move the ringtone you want to use to the folder "Ringtone". Check if it will show up on the list when choosing a ringtone. Please let me know if that works.

Hmm.. Odd. Does this problem happen to other people texting your friend? And if you don't mind, can you tell me what phone is your friend using?

Thanks for your answer.  However, my friend had this checked at the shop where he bought the phone and they said there was no blocking in place

Hmm.. Do you happen to be in a moving vehicle when those notifications happened? I'm thinking, you have Wi-Fi on and while you were moving, it's notifying you of a Wi-Fi network you passed by.

Hmm.. I'm sorry but are you sure it's the call ringtone you heard and not notification tone? Maybe it's one of your apps making the notification sound.

Also, check Settings > General Option > Advanced Settings > Accounts > Choose the email account not getting emails, check if the account is synced.

The answer was that Sky had problems with gmail based apps. Have loaded bluemail app and emails coming through fine now. Thanks

Hi Carole. I suggest removing the email from the email app and enter it again. Make sure you have stable internet connection.

Hi. Carl,  I did as you suggested,  no seperate ringtone, but I put the e mails to manual & disabled the prompt,  which is fine.   Beforehand, every time I was notified of incoming, I would think it was a text,  if it was mail & I didn't open it,  it would then ping again & again to remind me.     Thank you.

Check the emails app and open its settings, check if you can the ringtone. For message tone, open Message > Settings > Notification. Let me know if you found them.
