I tried it previously and it didn't work. I haven't tried it again. There appears to be a problem with the software  -  acknowledged by Doro who suggested updating  the software but the option was not available on my phone. Not very satisfactory and I intend to write a letter of complaint to Doro. My phone is only a few months old. In the meantime I have disconnected my phone from wi-fi !

Hmm.. Might just be a sync issue between the server and your phone. Can you try removing the email account on your phone, restart your phone, and enter it again. Also, you can delete the email from a web browser and it should be deleted on your email app.

Hmm.. That sucks. Well, since the phone is running Android, you can simply install another email app that you can use instead of the prebuilt one.

I have removed and re-installed my email account but it didn't solve the problem. How do I remove my email from a web browser ?

Go to Settings > Apps > look for the email app > Clear data. Login again the email and check please.

Hey george. What's the setup of your email client on your phone; is it IMAP or POP3?

I'm sorry that we can't find the real cause. If you have time, I suggest that you have your phone checked as it will be easier to find the problem if you have the phone on hand. With regards to smartphone, yeah, it might drive you crazy at first. But as you use it, I'm sure you'll find it easy to use specially with tons of apps you can download for all your needs.

Nice try but the calendar's empty.  I guess that the phone has a fault and I'll just have to live with until it's time to throw it away.  Pity, because it's such a simple and easy phone to use.  I think a smart phone would drive me up the wall.  Thanks for your efforts Carl

I got the same problem in Doro liberto 820,which I bought for my mom.This constantly stesses her,because one time in 2-3 weeks allarm turns on everytime she is in the shop. And I can't find the reason of alarm. It is not set on.

No, there are no unread messages.  I'm pretty sure that wouldn't cause the alarm to go off, it would just show a small envelope on the start screen but thanks for trying.

Hmm.. Have you tried checking the calendar? Maybe there are events set there that sets the alarm.

My alarm also self sets , supplier changed phone but new one also has same fault .

Hmm. That's odd. Does it alarm on any specific time only or totally random?

Totally random and it happens about once every 2 or 3 weeks

That did no work. Consumer Cellular did something at their end that corrected it. It happened again in November 2017. Same process with no explanation from them in spite of my asking why it happens. It happened again yesterday.  I did Master Reset, turned it off, removed battery, removed and reinstalled SIM card then turned on phone. It still says boop followed by No Memory. Phone still works but I have to redo all my settings each time.  GRRRRRRRR!!!  I'll call Consumer Cellular again.

As I first stated, I cleared the stored data. This time I cleared photos also. No change in 24 hours then it stopped doing the Boop! No Memory. Same thing all three times within a year. Must be a ghost in the machine. I ordered a MicroSD card and will see if that helps.

I have a Doro smartphone.

I cannot download a taxi app or download anything. The message comes

I will have to replace this phone which I bought because I AM AN ELDERLY PERSON

Hi Echosyn. Are you saving a lot of messages in your phone? That may be causing your phone to show 'No memory'.

That's really odd. Can you please update us what happens after you use a microSD card?

Try to restart the phone after freeing up some space to refresh storage. Let me know how it goes.

Hi many thanks for your help & interest, tried taking battery out but no luck. Did a factory reset all working great, as my contacts lists were backed up to a mini SD card no issues with re-importing the directory of contacts. I am assuming some corruption with an email may have caused this issue, anyway thanks a lot.

Hello & thank you for the comments & suggestions. Latest update, after two days with out receiving a single email suddenly over the weekend I get 14 of them but none of them will open, the screen shows a X after loading. Will have to do a complete reset after backing up my contacts folder. Will keep you posted.

Thank you, I have already done this several times, I use the same settings as those for my PC, which I receive with no problems. When I send a test message the PC receive it but my DORO. My provider is Virgin Media doyou think they could help?

If I were you, I would reset the settings of the email app and enter my email account again.

All the plusnet Account information has been deleted, but the gmail account details are still all there. I'm wondering if there is a fault somewhere, strange it only happens on one of the two email accounts and has been fine for the last year.

As far as I remember no settings were changed - which ones would be relevant? The email App is the one that comes with Doro - no new apps have been loaded.

I am experiencing the same on my doro 8040. The phone looses my e-mail address after putting it to flight mode. I retains the gmail settings though.

Hmm.. Odd. Can you check Settings -> Accounts if the email account is still there when you close the email app.

Did you change any settings on the phone before that happened? Also, which email app are you using?

I had a similar phone with m Doro. When I spoke to a representative with my Service Provider, she suggested that the problem COULD be a weak battery. Since my DORO was still under warranty, she sent out a new battery right away. I put in the new battery, and the Doro has worked fine since then. Something else which I learned from my son, who has an I Phone - all of the new stuff which the phones can do nowadays also makes the batteries work harder. The SAME thing is true of the battery in your car. If you have a newer model of car - you will notice your battery needing more special care more often because all of the stuff inside the car which the car now does ALSO makes the battery work harder.

The bottom line on the Doro7050 and the 618 is that they are cheap phones. These companies rush stuff to the market to make a profit. My old LG. Flip phone gave me 15 years of talk and text and even web search. Never once did I changed battery or have to charge it more than 30minutes at a time.

Have you tried re-installing the battery to the phone? Try it and charge for like 10 minutes then try turning it on again. Also, have you tried charging on a different charging cable, USB port, or wall socket? The problem may be on one of those and not in your phone.

My turned off and now it wiil not turn back on. I tried charging it. It still has a black screen. I even took the battery out, and reinstall it no luck.

My 2year old Doro will not hold the charge,100%.then 30 minutes later 6% down not used.? Do l need to buy a new battery? Or phone?

Mine dosent even show a red light mine just stays black the whole time what can I do??

In fact the green light flashes even though there ARE no new messages or a missed call. I am trying to figure out what to to stop the green light flashing. I do NOT want to delete my old messages.

I do not have any messages on my doro 6520, the green light has come on and will not stop flashing - how to I get rid of this green light.

Thank you for that, being an 80 year old fogey, it was rather worrying. Thought I was very clever having topped it up. I'll have to rethink my opinions!!!

Hi SK. Green light means you have a new message or missed a call.

Having the same problem Doro 8030 =its a brand new one - brought yesterday - ring tone volume set to the max 8  - but ring tones are very quiet - how can we make them louder = especially as this phone is suitable for the elderly

It's all ok now it appears the speaker in the off was not cut right tesco changed phone over and speaker part is cut out properly can see "holes behind the speaker cover and now ring tone is louder.

Hi, it's a brand new Doro 8030. The volume is set to high for conversations etc, the problem is only with the ring tone. Thanks

While in home screen, press volume up button to increase ringtone volume.

Hi Iain. Which Doro phone are you using?

I am looking to give my grandmother's old phone to my sister in-law's mother. However the phone has not been turned on since she passed away in October 2022. How long would it take for it to start charging again and turn on. At the moment, it will not turn on at all. I have removed the battery for 5 mins and inserted again and put it on the charger with no luck. 

I will be travelling in 10 days to England to visit family and give her this phone and really need it to work. Please help!!!

I had to leave the phone on to charge for nearly 2 days before it would start up. It was off for over 2 years but it seems to be working now thankfully. 

I have the same problem with my mums phone (doro 8030)  purchased in December 2016 for Christmas. . Not impressed at all! Tried taking battery out. Still dead! My mum recently had a stroke and needs her phone as she lives alone.

Hi Karen. Which Doro phone is your dad using? If the phone has a removable battery, try to remove it for a couple of minutes. Put it back then charge, if the phone reacts, try turning it on.

My doro 7050 is stone dead and won’t charge.   Took battery out for 1/2 he.    Put it back , nothing .   Junk???
