“When you first gaze upon the LG dLite, you'll probably be intrigued with its flamboyant colors, but it has this stylish aura surrounding it that makes it appealing. Unlike most flip style cell phones we are accustomed to seeing, the dLite undoubtedly can be placed close to the mid-range end with its eye catching LED colors illuminating the handset – which make it feel like some kind of tricked out sports car with neon lights all around. Additionally, the interface is also something different as it boasts a medley of personalization and animation to make the experience pleasurable to the eye. When using the handset strictly for phone functions, it's more than sufficient in meeting those goals, but falls flat in certain categories like web browsing and shooting videos. Overall, consumers who yearn for a different looking handset will definitely find it with the LG dLite as it considerably differentiates itself from others in its class – plus it's priced accordingly at $49.99 on-contract.”
“It was hard to write this review without overusing the words simple and basic, because that's the best way to describe this phone. At times, the LG dLite comes across as elegant, with great call quality, reception and battery life. That's enough to recommend this phone to buyers looking for a fun device for themselves or their children, without all the bells and whistles of a high-end feature phone or a smartphone. The best way to use this phone would be to buy it without a data plan and just stick to phone calls and basic messaging. Once you dive into the more advanced features, things get a little murky. Some of these features were just average. The Web browser and music player, for instance, were no better or worse than I expected from this flip phone. Some were worse than I expected, like the low quality camera or the Social Buzz app, with its unreliable and confusing notification system. On the whole, nothing beyond the calling and basic messaging features were impressive. Still, for the right buyer that will be just fine. The phone has a fun look and feel, with plenty of flash and dazzle. There are bright, animated light shows that pop up on the external shell, and you can customize these with a few fun options. The phone has a unique look that is eye catching, but it's also functional, stretching the handset from your ear to your mouth with ease. If you want a cell phone that focuses on looking good and making calls that sound great, the LG dLite is a fine choice.”

In Depth
The LG dLite is an entry-level flip phone with a girly look. LG intentionally designed this low-cost phone for young girls looking for a cute handset with basic call and text functionality, including camera and internet capabilities. The phone is lightweight and made of plastic, but sturdy enough for light to moderate usage. It is available in blue, pink, and black.
It has a large 2.8-inch OLED screen with 256,000 colors on a 240 x 400 pixel display. On its cover is a LED matrix that displays time with cute and simple dot animations.
Although an entry level mobile device, the LG dLite is a capable phone for varied mobile purposes. You can check your email using a 3G connection with speeds up to 3.6 Mbps on HSDPA. For file transfers and sharing, it has a Bluetooth function as well as a mini USB port for charging and connectivity to a PC or laptop.
For the price the camera is also impressive, 3.15 megapixels capable of taking 2048 x 1536 photos and a front facing VGA camera for video conferencing. Moreover, it has a built-in accelerometer that can turn its screen to landscape mode when rotated 90 degrees.
One knock on the dLite is that it does not have a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. Instead, the mini USB port located on the phone’s right side serves as the headphone jack, meaning you need to use the supplied headphones which are crisp sounding but may not be comfortable for some.
Being an entry level phone, the LG dLite has an 800 mAh Lithium Ion battery which is enough for light to moderate usage. The battery provides enough power to sustain a standby time of 250 hours and 3 hours talk time.
With all of its basic to mid-range features and fashionable appeal to young girls, the LG dLite is an affordable handset which will surely satisfy at its price.
