“With the addition of an LTE enabled Galaxy S II to the U.S., Samsung has literally a version for every possible taste out there. The Galaxy S II Skyrocket however, is clearly the best equipped for the future with its spanking new radio on board.AT&T’s 3G network has seen quite a lot of strain in the past several years, mostly due to the demand for the iPhone and the explosion of use of network data. When the LTE network starts rolling out however, the users of the capable devices will have it all to themselves, since the iPhone 4S is simply not equipped for it. This should be considered as one of the strongest arguments in favor of the Skyrocket.”
“The Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket is a big slab of Android, but with a twist: It's one of the first two smartphones to support AT&T's brand new 4G LTE network, the other being the HTC Vivid. We're giving the Editors' Choice nod to the Skyrocket, thanks to its faster performance, lightweight design, and vibrant (if not as high resolution) screen.”
“For the same price as the standard Galaxy S II, you get a bigger screen, access to the AT&T LTE network, and the same great user experience. At this point, I honestly think the only reason to even consider the normal Galaxy S II on AT&T is if you prefer a bit smaller phone. AT&T's LTE network is young, spotty, and has some connectivity issues, but it's full of promise and has a very nice 3G/4G network to fall back on when not in coverage. My experience didn't find the blazing fast Verizon style network speeds, but the overall experience to me was better because I didn't have the shock of going from insanely fast to dreadfully slow from one area to the next. While I wouldn't recommend switching from a carrier that already works well for you, if you're a current AT&T customer the future looks bright, and the Skyrocket is the phone to get.”
“When we reviewed the HTC Vivid, we almost gave the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket a mini-review of sorts: we compared the two LTE pioneers side by side, and while the Vivid has its fair share of strong points, we prefer the latter. It's thinner, lighter, trumps its rival in benchmarks, offers TouchWiz UI instead of Sense and wins hands-down in battery life. Of course, we've come to expect this kind of turnout with Sammy's flagship series, and we're glad to see it continue into the realm of true 4G.If you've been trying to decide on which Samsung Galaxy S II to plunk down your hard-earned cash on, the Skyrocket certainly complicates the choice you have to make -- especially if you're sticking with AT&T as your carrier. After all, you're looking at two incredibly similar devices that come with high recommendations. Ultimately, it comes down to two factors: display size and network speed. If you like the larger screen and wouldn't mind taking advantage of some LTE goodness when it comes to your town, you likely won't go wrong by taking this Skyrocket for a flight.”

In Canada this phone is listed as the Galaxy S II LTE from Rogers. Five days after receiving the phone and being wowed by the processors, screen and abilities of the phone, it fell out of my pocket. You'd think the Gorilla glass would withstand a fall from waist high, but when the phone hit the g...
