The iPad 10.2 (2021) is one of the best entry-level iPads to date. But unless it’s your first iPad or you’re replacing one more than a couple of years old, it doesn’t bring much new to the table.

The Apple iPad 9.7 (2018) might be the perfect iPad option for everyday use. It’s big enough for productivity or movie watching but small enough to easily stash in your bag or hold while you read. Apple Pen support is also great — but will add to the price.
If you’re looking for a smaller tablet, reviewers loved the iPad Mini (2019). It’s ultra-portable, powerful, and affordable. You can’t ask for much more.
