“There are two ways of looking at the 820 Mini, it is either a rather underpowered Android smartphone that doesn’t really have any unique selling points bar the software or you could see it as a really great phone for the elderly, the technologically unsure or for a child. Doro have identified a huge range of use cases and have morphed the Android system to help the user get the job done quickly and easily. The few weeks I had the 820 Mini for were great fun, mainly for me the Android power user trying to see just what I could get it to do. Yes at times things were frustrating like with the lag at times, the unresponsiveness shortly after booting and the woeful camera. But for the market that Doro are targetting non of these issues will matter.”

I was happy with this phone for two years until a month ago when it shut down and was useless. I bought a new battery but it hasn't solved the problem and no help from the EE shop either.

I tried it previously and it didn't work. I haven't tried it again. There appears to be a problem with the software  -  acknowledged by Doro who suggested updating  the software but the option was not available on my phone. Not very satisfactory and I intend to write a letter of complaint to Doro. My phone is only a few months old. In the meantime I have disconnected my phone from wi-fi !

Hmm.. Might just be a sync issue between the server and your phone. Can you try removing the email account on your phone, restart your phone, and enter it again. Also, you can delete the email from a web browser and it should be deleted on your email app.

Hi rob. Sorry but according to the manual, there's no other way to do it. Looks like you really need to put your phone in silent.

Hi Cal

Thanks for the suggestion.  Tried your suggestion but it stops the phone from ringing when receiving a call or a text.

AT the end, I wrote to the top management of the Doro company in Sweden to let them know how disloyal DORO is to it's customer when it dispatch software updates that just kill their phone. They gave me the email of a DORO top management person in France that would take care of the issue. I wrote to this person and got an invitation to send the phone to a repair center, at my own expenses. The repair center was finally able to reinstall a working version of the OS on the phone. I got it 5 months later and since then its working fine. Long battle for DORO to recognize that their update procedure doesn't work well and long battle for them to accept to "reload" my phone which was no more under guaranty. In general I would say that DORO is not customer oriented as it was difficult to get them to move. Without the help of the mother company I wouldn't have got any kind of service from their French subsidiary. I will not buy an other phone from DORO as those people have not quite understand that their jobs depend on customer satisfaction and would turn down any legitimate request.

Same problem here! Just got it out of the box, updated it, and boom, the loop starts... I've tried also to connect it to a computer, but still the loop goes on and on...

I've placed a support ticket to the company, if they give me a solution, I'll let you know..

I don't have an answer, I'm afraid, but I do have the same problem, and can add a few details.  When somebody calls me with the screen locked (invisible), I can make the screen visible by touching the on/off button.  The screen shows the locked home page, and I need to swipe up to unlock it.  The screen then shows green (accept call) on the lower left, and red (reject) on lower right. To answer, it seems that the user must swipe up on green.  When I do this, I get a message "Mute call?" with yes/no buttons.  I can't think why this comes up, because it's useless - but I can't see how to avoid it.  By the time I've managed to get past this, the caller has probably rung off!

Any help would be much appreciated!  Thanks in advance...

Hi Jim. What happens on those calls that aren't accepted? Are they instantly rejected or when you answer they get disconnected? I'm thinking that maybe you are using a call blocking app, I checked the manual and it looks like the phone doesn't have that feature built-in it. Did you install one recently?

Hi Harry. Keep in mind that pre-installed apps require root access to be deleted/uninstalled. To delete/uninstall the apps you installed, open Google Play store -> swipe from left to right -> choose my apps -> tap Installed -> from there you can delete/uninstall them.

Hi there. I believe what you pressed is the Reject call. Or are you pertaining to something else? Let me know if you want to know something else, would love to help.

Hi Raoul. Just to be clear, when you go to Messages, do you see any new messages?

Hmm odd. Did you try to open the app drawer and see if it's there? You can't delete it unless you root your phone.
